River Straumfjardara – new on anglers.is
Straumfjardara River is a new River on the list of Salmon rivers on anglers.is
Straumfjardara is a salmon river located on the Snaefellsnes peninsula in the West Iceland. With water supplied from two mountain lakes and smaller springs along its run, coming together in a riverbed of 12 km which is accessible for the salmon to run in to and spawn, as well as char and sea trout in the lower part of the river.

In the northeast outpost of Heraðsfloi, Throstur Ellidason and his company Strengir, have set up a smolt releasing scheme aimed at turning a former huge muddy glacial river and its tributaries into salmon fishing luminaries.

Brunna River – the summer of 2012
Brunná in Oxarfjordur is a gin clear char and sea trout river on the north east coast of Iceland. The number of rods allowed in the river are three. The river is a fly fishing river only. Brunná flows through a wonderful surroundings, offering areas of unique beauty and diversity. The river flows through brushwood country and at its lower reaches it combines with a branch of the glacier river Jokulsá, creating the much sought after visible line of clear and mud-colored water.

Laxa in Refasveit river- summer of 2012
Laxa á Refasveit is a medium sized river emptying into the Húnaflói bay, a short way north of the town Blönduós. 15 kilometers are passable for fish. Fishing in Laxa in Refasveit is in much demand but it is often few good days free during july and agust. Very good self catering lodge is by the river with accommodation of 6 in 3 separate room.
