If you want to fish in Iceland, you need to plan your trip in advance and very often, book and buy permits for the rivers or lakes you want to fish, before you arrive. Our fishing season here in Iceland, starts on April 1st and most rivers and lakes are closed down for the winter, before end of September. Our Salmon season starts in beginning of June, but most rivers open for fishing in the end of June or beginning of July.
