Salmon fishing in Iceland in 2017 – June 3th was the first day of the Salmon season here in Iceland. River Nordura was the first of the major salmon rivers here in Iceland, to “open”. In beginning of the season, Nordura is fished with 8 rods pr day. On the first 2 days, around 30 salmon was caught and all them was in the range of 10-21 pounds.  First salmon of the season was caught by Gylfi Sigurdsson, best Icelandic soccer player. See picture.
