The Salmon season has started in Iceland and the start have been very good. Good number of salmon are up in the rivers already and good numbers seems to be coming in every day. We have still many rivers that have not opened yet, one of them is West Ranga river.
Fishing at West Ranga starts on June 21st. In recent years, West Ranga have been the number one river in Iceland, if we look at total number of salmon caught each season. Now we have a last minute cancellation for 2 rods at West Ranga for the dates 8-11th of July. Average number of salmon caught pr rod during that week, over that last 3 years, are 3,5 – mostly big salmon.
