Fishing guide in Iceland – When anglers come from abroad to fish in Iceland, we always recommend they have a fishing guide for the first day or two, at least. Local knowledge on Icelandic Rivers and lakes is sometimes a key to success while fishing in Iceland. One guide can easily guide 2-3 anglers, but at some rivers one guide can only guide one angler. That goes specially for salmon rivers.
We offer day tours for anglers in the Reykjavik and Akureyri area. On those tours, your guide can provide both rods, reels, waders and fishing tackle. If you come to Iceland to fish for more than 2 days, we recommend you bring your own fishing gear if possible. It is easy to bring fishing gear to Iceland, but when entering Iceland you do need to get your gear disinfected. You can do that at the Airport.
Price for a fishing guide varies from approx. ISK 40.000 – 75.000 (Eur 333 – 625). 2-4 anglers can share the cost of a guide.
We have a range of great fishing guides that can show you the right technique to catch a big brown trout or great looking arctic char. Send us a message if you are on your way to Iceland.
