Our Fishing season here in Iceland starts on April 1st and April is also the first formal spring month here in Iceland. April can be cold in Iceland but that is also the month when the River and lake brown trout starts to wake up from the winter sleep. Both brown trout and sea trout start to feed aggressively, as both air and water temperature warms up. One of the best spring rivers for brown trout and sea trout in south Iceland, is West Ranga. We have few rods available at a great time for that river.

Dates: April 17/18/19th 2021

Numer of rods: 3-4 rods available.

Fly fishing – Brown Trout – Sea Trout – Arctic Char.

Self catering accommodation.

Below you can see few pictures from last April. Biggest fish were over 7 kg (14 pounds) and many in the range 7-12 pounds.

Please contact us for more information about this West Ranga trip.

Lake Thingvallavatns opens up for fishing on April 15-20th. If you come to Iceland, we can add 1 or more days at Lake Thingvallavatn to your trip. Lake Thingvallavatn is known for the Trophy Trout that lives in the lake.
