Jokla rivers are one of the best salmon area in Iceland. The Jökla salmon & trout fishing area is a combined fishery involving five rivers located in north east of Iceland. The rivers are Fögruhlíðará, Kaldá, Laxá, Fossá as well as the Jökla river. It only takes about five minutes to drive from one river to the other. The five rivers are very stable in terms of water level.

A smolt rearing and releasing program has been in place at Jokla rivers for few years now, and is meant to enhance the run of wild fish and bring the overall salmon stock to more abundance. The program is working very well and the productivity has constantly been increasing. Jokla main river is fished with 6-8 rods pr day. The length of the rivers is approx 40 km, so there is plenty of space for each angler. In recent years total number of salmon caught have been in the range of 355-815 salmon, plus lot of trout and char.

We have some availability for the 2018 season at the Jokla rivers, so please contact us for more information.
