Holsa and Thvera

About the river

The Holsa is a very productive salmon and sea trout fishing river. The Holsa is formed where the East Ranga, West Ranga and the Thvera rivers meet. Both salmon and sea trout running into the three rivers travel through the Holsa in enormous quantities.

The total length of the Holsa river is over 20km but over the main season the fishing area is often split in two parts – the upper part, from East Ranga and down to the junction with West Ranga – and then the lower part, down to the sea.

In 2009 the whole fishing area was reorganised, roads repaired, pools marked and a new fishing lodge was built.

The lodge consists of six large twin-bedded rooms with private showers and facilities, large living and dining room, big kitchen, large terrace with barbeque grill and hot jacuzzi outside.
