First day of the fishing season was yesterday here in Iceland, on April 1st. It is still very cold and we have some snow on the ground. The weather forecast is telling us that spring will arrive little bit later than we have been used to, for the past few years. The vicious virus that is running wild in the world, did make a stop here in Iceland also – but our experts are doing a very good job fighting it. They have already tested close to 6% of the population on the Island the forecast is that we will be on the top of the curve around mid April, and hopefully, in beginning of May, things will slowly start to get back to normal – but we will see.
Iceland is still open for tourists, we have not closed our boarders. We are looking forward to the summer. We do practice strict social distancing in Iceland at the moment, but there is no lock down and fishing is allowed. We are looking forward to the summer and the main fishing season that is from June to end of August.
Here are below are few pictures form the first 2 days of fishing. The biggest trout is from River West Ranga and then we have few pics from River Holaa, Brown Trout and Char river that many of our clients know well.
