Location: North. 390 km from Reykjavik. 1 km from Akureyri

Average catch pr. year: From 1986-2010 the average catch was 2.130 arctic char.
Season: June 21. – september 30.
The lodge: No lodge.The river is next to Akureyri, the largest town in north of iceland.

River Eyjafjardara

Eyjafjardara is more than 70 kilometers long, running north through the beautiful valley of Eyjafjordur. It joins the ocean close to Akureyri. The river is easily accessable by roads 821 and 829. It is renowned for it´s big Arctic Char but you can also expect to find brown trout, sea trout and an occasional salmon.

The river is divided into 5 beats with two rods fishing each beat. As the fishing is in much demand it is prudent to plan well ahead well before your arrival.
